Belgorod-Dnestrovsky is a small town situated on the bank of the Dniester river. It is one of ten the oldest cities in the world. The town was founded by the ancient Greeks in the 4th century B.C. Since then the town changed its names and was ruined and rebuilt many times. It was a part of Roman empire, Kiev Russ principality, Moldavian principality, Ottoman empire, Romania. There are many historical places in the town now: the excavations of the ancient town Tira, the fortress which was built in the 15th century to protect the town from the invaders, Greek Orthodox church built in the 14th century and Armenian church built in the 15th century.
